Twas a long day that started at 4.30 am. We took a sand dunes morning sunrise tour. Normally, I don’t like waking up early, but I must say, this was definitely worth it. The view of sunrise was simply stunning. I wish my camera was able to better capture the sight.

Mui Ne is a beach town about 300 km from Ho Chi Minh City, and can be reached in about 4 hours. Its beach is not only nice for chilling out (as there usually aren’t many people), but there are also many activities like kite-surfing, windsailing, and surfing. Another spectacular sight are the white and yellow dunes. It is truly a marvelous sight. The white dunes are about a half hour drive from the beach area of Mui Ne, while the yellow dunes are an easy ten km away.

Part of the tour involved going to the Mui Ne fishing village. It was certainly worth the trip. We arrived in the morning, and boats were bringing in fresh catch from the night before. It was bustling with activity.

After our tour of some sights that Mui Ne has to offer, we went back for a leisurely breakfast, and I took a nap.

Afternoon was filled with various water activities – which Mui Ne is known for its water activities. Others went for kayaking and jetskiing, I opted for surfing. Previously, I managed to catch some waves, but no luck today. Lesson learnt? Go check Wind Guru before going surfing. It is pretty handy if you want to do wind-related activities. Other activities on offer along the beach include windsailing and kite-surfing.

For the less inclined, sitting on the beach is also a pleasant activity. Although it doesn’t have clear blue waters, it does have pretty powdery white sand. More importantly, there are very few people on the beach usually, so you don’t feel like you’re sharing the beach with a million other people.
