R kindly invited me onto a cabin trip that her fiance organized with a group of their friends, so I had the opportunity to do an overnight trip in Washington State for the first time. Today was mainly a getting-to-the-destination day, so time was mainly spent in the car. I did think it was funny how towns we passed by were named “Gold Bar”, though.

Otherwise, the journey to Stevens Pass was very scenic, and it was nestled in the mountains, so peaks aplenty on the journey there. Getting to the chalet was a bit of an adventure. We were supposed to take a certain road in, but there was a stationery train blocking the path. It was also getting dark, not to mention really cold outside, so that was kinda fun. Thankfully, the pack found another way in, and soon, we were in a cosy cabin.
